The Dolphin School is a new and unique inner city school with an exciting future. Every member of staff who works here has the opportunity to contribute to the creation and building of a caring, high achieving and community ethos for our school.

Having opened in September 2012, there are currently 315 children on roll in Early Years, KS1 and Years 3 & 4 and 5. We will grow to be a 420 place school by September 2020. We moved into our new school building Easter 2017.

With a strong vision to develop a curriculum which utilises the incredible resources available within the City of Bristol we strive to include all stakeholders within our development as a school.

A commitment and understanding of the importance of Learning Everywhere is essential.

We are looking to recruit staff who are genuinely inspired to work within a strong, supportive team, delivering high quality provision for the children within our care; staff who are energised by thinking outside of the box and making learning fun and fabulous. Cross Trust working with both the secondary school and our other primary schools gives us the opportunity to share resources and expertise.

We are looking for candidates who are experienced at working with children with ASC, and have done some training in this area. We are also looking for candidates who are experienced at working with children with social emotional mental health needs who exhibit challenging behaviour.

We want individuals who are nurturing and supportive and have high expectations for all children. These individuals have to be able to think and deliver high quality support using their own initiative as well as being part of a class team approach.

You need to be able to create resources and adapt materials with the pupil’s interests in mind so pupils will be engaged in learning plans suggested by the Inclusion Manager and outside agencies. You will be expected to implement suggestions and strategies, monitor the learning plan and be responsive to pupils needs with flexibility, sensitivity and an awareness of the skills needed to effectively support pupils with SEND. Experience or training of ASC strategies such as PECS and Work Stations is desirable.

You will be someone who enjoys working as part of a team and also able to work using your own initiative. Previous experience of working with children is essential as is flexibility and a sense of humour. We strive to offer the highest level of education and trust that you will have equally high expectations. The Trust offers a wide variety of CPD opportunities.

We seek individuals who are eager to engage with all stakeholders and become involved in the wider life of the school in order to support our community ethos.
