Musicians

At the Dolphin School our aim is to engage and inspire pupils to develop a love of music as well as their talent as musicians.  We believe that by doing this we can increase the children’s self-confidence, creativity and sense of achievement. 

This love of music is demonstrated during singing assemblies when the whole school comes together to engage in a wide range of high quality songs, from a breadth of influences.  

In the EYFS the children learn about music through engaging in songs and rhyme as well as rhythms and patterns.  As pupils progress through the school they develop a critical engagement with music, allowing them to both compose music and to analyse the music they listen to.  This comes with the opportunity to learn a musical instrument and use technology to compose with.
